10 BEATLEY FACTS ABOUT ME:

  • My parents met at a Wings concert, so if not for Paul McCartney and/or The Beatles, I wouldn't even exist.
  • I told my mom at 2.5 years old that I was going to marry "Beatle John" when I grew up. I didn't know at the time that he passed away before I was born. (My mom worked hard to keep it a secret until I was 10 & she thought I could handle the news.)
  • Shortly after my 4th birthday, I remember being mesmerized by seeing Ed Sullivan footage on a neighbor's television. The woman thought I was just wanting to watch television & turned on "101 Dalmatians" for us to watch instead. I tried to stop her from changing it, but she didn't believe me when I told her that I wanted to watch what was already on.
  • When I was in kindergarten at the age of 5, I saw footage of Wings in 1976 on television (not knowing that my parents met because of that tour & also not knowing the connection between Wings & The Beatles at all) & promised my mom I would see him in the front row one day. I reached that goal with my mom at my side in 2005.
  • I have a very clear memory of being in 1st grade & seeing a map of England, thinking "that's where those guys are from!" I already knew.
  • When I was in 2nd grade, I asked my teacher if "James & The Giant Peach" was about Paul because he had a Beatles haircut in the illustration & because Paul is really James.
  • When I was about 7-8 years old, my school put on a play about different cultures called "Around The World." One scene was about The Beatles & we were to sing "She Loves You" & "Komm, Gibt Mir Deine Hand." My music teacher was shocked to know that I knew BOTH songs' lyrics already. Yes, even the German version…
  • When I was in music class in the 4th grade, my music teacher saw me passionately singing along to the Raffi video we were watching of "Octopus's Garden." She made a remark about how I must have really been enjoying it & I replied, "Yeah, but the Abbey Road version is much better." Hah!
  • By the time I was 7 years old, I knew all of the basics about the band & all of their music. I would come home from school & actually study/memorize facts about them like it was a job or school subject.
  • When I was 14 years old, I saw Ringo from the 1st row & he acknowledged my existence. (When I saw Paul in 2005 as mentioned above, Paul acknowledged my existence too.) Incredible! As of 2014, I've seen Paul 8 times & Ringo 4 times. (I've seen Sean Lennon & James McCartney once each too & have met countless Beatle people at Beatlefests, etc.!)
